It’s only February and yet another bomb blast in the year ‘07. The first series reflected the so called sectarian violence. In which one sect was repeatedly targeted by the radicals. But this time it was slight different. This time the state is being embattled here. Brave men of the state and I am talking about the police performed their duties remarkably. They stood right in between the death toll and the terrorists like a goalie saving the penalty kick.

Samjhota or Agreement (in English) was the name given to the train service which is in news these days because of the unfortunate incident that took place yesterday. Indian police famous for its efficiency blamed some radical Muslim Organistaion. They have also arrested some people including the family members of the dead, Muslim of course. For sure no government would like to see dead neighbors on their own soil. But one can easily see clear security and management lapse on their behalf,  half of the passengers were burned to death as the doors were locked form the outside (“ for security reasons”).

Well, we are completely depending on New Delhi now. Maybe they come up with some results. As we have more terrorists attacks to worry about (God forbid). One thing for sure there is no place for Afghanis in  Pakistan. Muslim or not they are responsible for more than half of the terrorist acts in the country.

What happened was horrible. I feel terrible for the victims and their families. The security lapse was shocking and it’s terrible that it was not taken more seriously. As for what will happen now, Governments of countries work politically and under pressure, I don’t understand the procedures of who gets charged and arrested and how. But I hope this will not create tensions between the people of Pakistan and the people of India. Political and historical disputes aside, we are all people under One God and the samjhauta shouldn’t be hindered because of the enemies of peace, whoever they may be.

Peace,

As far as freindship and love between the people of the two nations are concerned it will grow for good inshallah(God willing).

But we live in a real world R-E-D; by singing love, love and peace wont exactly stop the terrorists. Families who lost their loved ones will never go and live the same life they use to live before this incident. Its sad but true.

May God bless the innocent victmis.

I agree it wont stop terrorists. But if we can’t stop terrorists does it mean we will let terrorists stop us? God bless the victims and their families. Amen and Peace.

does samjhauta means agreement?
i always thought it meant compromise

R-E-D on 22 February, 2007 at 7:48 am #

It can be used for compromise. Most often it means “Understanding”. Samajhna = to understand. Samjhauta = understanding.

That can be an agreement, or a compromise.

so what is the hindi/urdu word for compromise

R-E-D on 22 February, 2007 at 11:06 am #

Samjhauta is correct, another word for it is madhyamarg in hindi which means the middle path.

Ammar sorry these comments are kinda off-topic… oops.
