No problem Ammar I will wait, thanks for remembering the promise. As for this particular sher, I remember one by ‘Zauq’ which says-
‘Layee hayat aye, kaza ley chalee chale,
Apni khushi na aye they, na apni khushi chale.’
A few words may be here or there because I can’t read Urdu, all what I know is whatever I remember hearing from my Nana.

i read dis one before. to read teh language in its original form is no doubt a blesing we urdu speakers take for granted :p

but the shair u mentioned reflects REGRET thn fear of death or any mishap. i think i should start elaborating the ashaars I post. wat do u reckon?

That’s a good idea Ammar. Intrepretation makes a whole lot of difference. Ghalib’s poetry has a different meaning everytime you hear it. Most of it depends on your mood although.
