Satan went to a contest to prove that he’s the most stubborn, wicked and evil guy on the planet Earth but came out in a foul mood and shouted;

‘Now, who the f**k is Musharaf?’ :P

Moti Bhains on 21 April, 2008 at 3:32 pm #

Did you ever realize that Musharraf gave you a lot? The (somewhat) freedom of Media you have right now is because of him. Less than half of the people who talk bullcrap about him actually go to jail. Of course some people are still missing but you have to realize that all of us bloggers who chat crap about him could potentially end up in Pakistani prison.

All these concerts that now take place in abundance in Pakistan.. The country-wide release of a controversial movie like KKL.. All of it bundles up together to form a bunch of things that he has done for US!

I’m sure you meant this as a harmless joke but believe me.. Right there, you took advantage of your freedom. =]

@ nikki

For some odd reason your comments end up in spam box. Are you sure you havent launched any product with your name ;) :P

@ Moti Bhains

So MB actually stands for Moti Bhains ;)

Anyway you talked about freedom of speech and like many others gave all the credit in the world to one man. If you look closely into the details you will find out that how this ‘one man’ played the so called freedom to his advantage and when this freedom started to effect his rule in the country; we witnessed bans on anchors, channels and bloggers.

now my family like many others gave blood to the freedom I am using today and wont let anyone to take credit for it. in short i don’t owe a nickel to him :)

Have a Nice day!

supersizeme on 22 April, 2008 at 6:13 am #

WOW! that sounds like a threat MB, I know you might liek this guy, but we are all entitled to our own opinions.
yes he loosened the ‘grip’ on entertainment/media, but also too that away just as quick. Bhutto may have banned bands like Junoon (well, cus they created controversies about her in their vdo’s and were super-confident, they overstepped boundaries, so she banned them. I’d have done the same.. haha! But other govts (apart from Zia were much more lenient). Mush hasnt gave his ppl hardly anything, he’s taken more than hes given.
what matters is what the PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN want, and the PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN have voted, and Musharraf didnt get their votes.

supersizeme on 22 April, 2008 at 6:16 am #

oops, dumb typos.
I mean:
took* that away,
mush has* given his people hardly anything.

and I have brackets in the wrong places haha.

An ILLuS|On on 22 April, 2008 at 3:36 pm #

I believe there would be a hell lotsa people in that category apart from Musharraf you know..how about Mr 10% for example or our very popular Shareef Barad’raans?
Yeah yeah i know its in the air & everyone wants its share of coming into that “category of degrading Musharraf” but believe you me there’s hell lot of difference in seeing things which are being showed/portrayed to you & the way things are in real.

p.s. i am not an anti musharraf nor vice versa!

عمار - aMmAr on 23 April, 2008 at 10:27 am #

@Nikki

tafu :P :D is one level higher then poor Satan. in fact researchers in hell are trying to come up with something to meet his level :P

@Supe

i totally agree withya. But for me all the dictators are the same.

عمار - aMmAr on 23 April, 2008 at 10:38 am #

@ illusion

welcome to ronin.

I agree that these politicians are no better. But he is the biggest law breaker in the history of the country. He remained in uniform for more then 50 years and got himself elected illegally then threw the CJ under house arrest with his family not to forget his handicap boy wasn’t allowed to goto the hospital and the list goes on.

An ILLuS|On on 23 April, 2008 at 3:09 pm #

I seriously doubt that ammar..if you do read the history you would find many others in that list as well who might come into the category of “biggest law breakers” for example Zia-Ul-Haq who suspended 1973’s constitution for more than a decade apart from many others including our very beloved Nawaz Sharif who also had a tussle with the Supreme Court of Pakistan in his reign in 98..the tales of Mr Zardari & Bibi Benazir are forgotten..no one remembers about their swiss accounts,surrey palaces etc..no ones remembers i wonder why though..the Chief Justice of that time was humiliated as well but lawyers weren’t active at that time..at that time there wasn’t any lawyer mafia..yes Musharraf might have done many things wrong but he got rid of all those elements *well not most of em but still the many culprits* threw em outa country & brought new hope..yes he might have failed in doing so but believe you me even the current establishment isn’t that credible at all..i wrote about it on my blog as well..change is what people want eh? They wanted to get rid of Musharraf & his establishment eh? Then why they’ve voted for same old god damn corrupt politicians? Why? They *PPPP & PML(N)* should be thankful to Musharraf *and US* for proposing such a wonderful idea in shape of NRO which allowed them to come back & to sing the same old tunes again..i believe nothing has changed..same old faces & same old promises..yes Musharraf might be an evil person..a pain in the a** for all those politicians but still i adore him for what he has done..our country’s in a crisis ammar..we need to be constructive rather than being critical & jumping into the common bandwagon of cursing people..lets stand up & do something for our country..for once lets do it!

p.s. for the sake of correcting you Musharraf remained in uniform for more than 5 years mate..cheers!

عمار - aMmAr on 26 April, 2008 at 12:13 pm #

Well I cant type a comment as long as urs :P ;)

But I will try to reply on this. First of all The top positions in the so called devils list is occupied by our Army Generals :P So it doesn’t matter if its zia, yahaya, ayub or mushi.

Nobody is jumping in the same bandwagon, I dunno about you but Pakistani civil society along with the lawyers are struggling for a movement. The restoration of justice in Pakistan. For us law breakers deserve capital punishment.

As far as the corrupt politicians are concerned; they are a part of a corrupt system. But who create that corrupt system? Yes your fav. establishment and dictators in uniform.

So if someone asks me whose the bigger devil my answer will be the same. As for doing something for the country is concerned, I am speaking against the culprits by standing with righteous. What are you doing?

Have a nice weekend Mate!

An ILLuS|On on 26 April, 2008 at 6:44 pm #

I seriously doubt that only speaking against the culprits would make that difference especially when it isn’t getting noticed!
Moving on i won’t argue with you regarding the top positions as you’ve got your own opinion about it & i’ve got mine but yes as far as the formation of corrupt system is considered well you’re very wrong by saying that its being created by dictators instead i’d say that dictators always get the chance to rule because of the politicians..if you flip through the pages of history till late 50’s or early 60’s we had more than 6 PM’s or less..we twisted our constitution & set new examples of corruption/instability which paved way for our first military ruler Field Marshal Ayub Khan..although his era was reckoned to be the golden era of Pakistan both economically & socially as dollar was of 1.5PKR at that time..bottom line is that its politicians who should be making the establishment not the generals & so far in the history they’ve been the ones who have been guilty of not doing that which always makes it quite obvious for a military ruler to come in as a last resort & to rule for endless years.
Still i’d say no one..i mean absolutely no one could reach that level of corruption/mis-governance that was being witnessed after Zia-ul-Haq’s departure till Musharraf’s arrival.
Talking about laywers & their movement,i believe the “new” establishment isn’t willing to let CJ to be restored despite the fact that only 7 days or so are left before the counting stops..reason’s very simple my friend,they i.e: Mr.10% & Shareef Bros don’t want their cases to get re-opened & i seriously doubt that they’d reach to solution by the given time..so much for democracy eh..politics way too much intricate & twisted than we can think about..cheers my friend cheers as i am done with it:)

Fariha Akhtar on 27 April, 2008 at 5:34 am #
