I like many others grew up listening to Nazia and Zohaib Hassan. There have been many female and male singers who made both fame and fortune in the pakistani Pop industry and made the country proud. But there wont be any other Nazia Hassan. This post is a little tribute to her and a clip from one of her last appearnces on the tele.

And one of my favorties ‘Kya Huaa’

Ammar,I was in school when Nazia sang for Qurbani. She was quite a rage here in India and ‘aap jaisa koi’was a big hit.

As a kid, I never really got to know her music, maybe because most of my cousins were into western music, and I followed them, didn’t learn much though…

But when I finally heard their music, long after she had passed away, I wish I could have enjoyed their music earlier. :D

Nazia was a trend setter in her times…I attended one of her concerts and both of them were very good. I liked her later songs like ” ..aa karye pyar diyan gallaan “..
God bless her soul…she indeed was a gem.
